No two journeys are alike

Each soul appears on this earth in a unique set of circumstances that is distinct from one to the next. But this modern world which is devoid of wisdom and is rife with hedonism does not teach the importance of discovering your own unique life purpose and living out your passions and talents to create a truly fulfilling life.

As a result, most people do not truly live for themselves, as they have no unique identity of their own, but instead, adopt and emulate what the world has told them to believe and abide by since their adolescence from the programs of religion, schooling and collective society.

Due to being devoid of their own selfhood, people are inclined to compare their own lives to others, thinking their value and self-worth come from what the world thinks of them, rather than what they think of themselves, as true approval and validation come from within and not what the world ascribes to you.

However, no two lives are meant to be compared as each human has a different purpose for being on this earth and each has been endowed with distinct life circumstances. Everyone has their own unique life journey and there are those born to favorable circumstances and those to unfavorable circumstances.

It is therefore unwise to compare your life to anyone else, as you are meant to honor yourself as a unique individual and understand you have your own path in life to walk, that you have been endowed with certain abilities and qualities which are unique to yourself and you were created to be unlike anyone else.

  2. Agreed. Exessive comparing and validation-seeking behaviours have become unhealthy and destructive to our self-worth. You’ve done a brilliant job highlighting this and sharing positive replacement practices Ali. Thank you 🙂

  3. Hi Ali,

Agreed it is hard to break free from this social programming, but well worth it in the long run!
